Demo of my server synced real time clock with a lot of colors.I am currently working on a small project for MESO Web Scapes that involves synchronizing independent browser windows (may also extend to independent devices and platforms). Spam-Bekämpfung auf die harte Tour

Screenshot_2014-04-17-10-22-45_spamIch hasse Spam. Ich hasse Spam in Form von E-Mails, obwohl ich gute Maßnahmen dagegen habe. Deutlich nerviger finde ich unverlangte Werbe-SMS. Und am allermeisten hasse ich unverlangte Werbe-SMS, die morgens um sechs auf meinem Handy landen. Werbe-SMS stören mich dermaßen, dass ich jede erhaltene (drei in den letzten drei Jahren) an die Bundesnetzagentur [BNetzA] gemeldet habe. Wie das geht zeige ich hier.

SMS-Spam ist glücklicherweise seltener als E-Mail-Spam. Das liegt sicher zum Teil daran, dass SMS Geld kosten. Wenn wir es irgendwie schaffen, die zusätzlichen Kosten für Spam-Schleudern in die Höhe zu bringen, kann es das Ende für SMS-Spam bedeuten – weil es sich einfach nicht lohnt 100 Euro für SIM-Karten, Ausstattung und SMS-Versand auszugeben um möglicherweise 50 Euro zu verdienen.

Evaluating TextSecure Part 2 – Dependency Tree

This is part 2 in my series on TextSecure. Go back to part 1, if you haven’t read it. The analysis took place at the end of february 2014, using revision 5a62856e (current master at that time).

This part will cover basic project dependencies. The dependencies are important, because they will tell us, what code makes up our project. In projects of this size, there’s usually a nice portion that’s not actually written by the project authors themselves.

Evaluating TextSecure Part 1 – Will it Compile?

Choosing your messenger is pretty easy. Unless you actually really care about security and privacy. If you do, you can’t just go with your friends’ first suggestion. You also can’t trust the vendor’s claims. After all, they are all very secure, according to themselves.

We decided to take a closer look at the android client for TextSecure. On paper, it appears to be the best trade-off of features and security.
